-
Partnering with Food Pantries/Day Centers/Soup Kitchens to hand out pet food and other resources
-
Providing resources that can help with finding shelter, pantry, pet food assistance, and more
-
Referring them to other organizations/business that provide low cost vet/medical care and more
-
Provide Transportation for individuals that have found resources but don't have a vehicle to pick up the items
-
Educating individuals about health and wellness for people and animals
-
Fostering cats/dogs in animal shelters
-

-
If an individual is sick/ill/injured and wants to keep their pet but unable to take care of it and can't afford pet care, one of our volunteers goes out and helps makes sure the pet is okay and that the owner has what they need
-
Provide Transport to Vet/Medical Appointment or to a Job interview

Stay Pawsome was founded in January 2021 by Jolanda Malone
In February 2022 We decided to changed the name to Beartha
Incorp. on February 2021 and 501(c)(3) status

My Abuela (grandmother) name was Bertha and growing up in the South Bronx we lived in a house that felt like a mansion. She always welcomed her home to neighbors , friends, families, people that needed help, and furry friends. She helped so many people get on their feet, rescued stray cats, and provided a safe haven that made people feel welcomed. Bertha means "Bright One" and she surely did Brighten my life and inspired me to make a community that Humans, Animals, and Nature will be important and can come together. This Non-Profit Organization is in Honor of her and how to leave the world a better place than she found it.
Beartha(instead of it being Bertha, I wanted to incorporate Earth in the name as well)

Since 2021 to March 2024 we have provided over 2000 Pet Food & Plant Based Meals in Wake/Durham County, over 150 Support Group Sessions, over 60 community/volunteer outreach events, and provided over 50 virtual or in person activities to meet likeminded people and /or receive resources they may need.
We are truly thankful for everyone that has helped us make this a reality!
We couldn't have done this without you
